Along with the ease of using SA on RedHat the linux distros will be shipped
with iptables....a very nice firewall mechanism that gets configured when you
do the install.....all free....  If you're going to run a firewall I'd suggest you
repurpose an old pentium box you have and put your mail server behind it.
Easy to set up and it gives you great protection....especially if your internet
connection uses fixed ip addresses.

well I'm to Linux,  but  I have alot of experience  in UNIX HP-UX 10.2 just that its been a while,  but we are non-profit , and all these firewalls  and spam apps are very expensive.  we are a small 40 user org

To the best of my knowledge, you need a linux box to run spam assassin
on. And even then, it only filters mail which passes through it. If your
new to the idea of linux, I suggest that you visit www.redhat.com and
find out a little more before you make this jump
