I am getting a lot of messages on console like this: "/kernel: <mail.info>spamd [xxx] connection from localhost [127.0.0.1] at port yyyy" .
I have a FreeBSD 4.3-RELEASE-p20 server running like mail server (sendmail, Qpopper, procmail etc..) with spamassassin on top of them.
Can anybody tell me what is this message about and how can I turn it off ?
Configure your syslog daemon to not pump mail.info messages to the console.
By default spamd generates these messages and sends them to syslog. Where syslog goes with them is up to your syslog daemon.. most people log this stuff to a file, and only log things with priority over info to the console.
