The _journal is created during use of bayes -- maybe the other users haven't trained enough mails yet to gain bayes scanning. Its presence, creation, and size fluctuations, are to be expected during normal use. The real bug here is that the code isn't coping with "out of space" errors effectively; it should not log so frequently.
