Ok, now it gets weird. Just for the heck of it, I removed "-D" from the command-line: {root} % /usr/local/sa/bin/sa-learn --spam --mbox /temp/spam.txt Learned from 1 messages. Whoa! I can repeat this. If I make sa-learn forget about the message at each run, I can teach it again, omitting the -D. But as soon as I re-add -D to the command syntax, poof, sa-learn will not learn from it any more (or better put: the debug interface says it did not learn from it; it still could have). Here, I will show you my exact test-sequence: {root} % /usr/local/sa/bin/sa-learn --spam --mbox /tmp/spam.txt Learned from 1 messages. Here it learns the spam. Correct. {root} % /usr/local/sa/bin/sa-learn --forget --mbox /tmp/spam.txt Learned from 1 messages. Ok, made it go away. Correct. {root} % /usr/local/sa/bin/sa-learn --forget --mbox /tmp/spam.txt Learned from 0 messages. Repeating the last command. Obviously, nothing new to learn. Correct. {root} % /usr/local/sa/bin/sa-learn --spam --mbox -D /tmp/spam.txt ... debug: Initialising learner Learned from 0 messages. Message NOT learned. Error. {root} % /usr/local/sa/bin/sa-learn --spam --mbox /tmp/spam.txt Learned from 1 messages. And, ran without -D, back to learning the message again. Correct.
