It would be, if it wouldn't just trigger the next cycle of evolution: E.g.
a text generator using simple markov chains with single-word transitions,
treating punctuation as discrete symbols, and train it on something from the
gutenberg project or last weeks slashdot. I hacked together something like
that way back when I first heard of the concept of markov chains with only
rudimentary programming skills, and it produced really likely-looking
gibberish.

If you program a parser for some level of language, you get the reverse
direction more or less for free. I don't see how you can detect something
that consists of only an image and some correct text, at least by textual
analysis. You might still look for "white on white" text or the like - for
now...

Of course, there is a very simple solution: only accept mail PGP-signed
with keys signed by some authority you trust. That way you'll know who to
sue. It'll probably also greatly reduce those pesky mails from your
customers (or other contacts)...
