Kmail hangs while it waits for the results of whatever it's been piped 
through.  I've solved the problem by using fetchmail to haul in my mail, then 
have fetchmail pass it to a qmail server which only accepts local mail; qmail 
sends the messages to procmail, which then invokes SA.  I don't know how much 
trouble this would be to set up for a multi-user situation, though...
