In invoking SA via amavisd-new I don't believe there's anything on amavis' end thats needs to be changed. Below is a copy of my local.cf - from looking over the man page this would appear to be enough to rewrite the subject header - but messages w/ hits greater then 3 aren't touched.

rewrite_subject 1 subject_tag *****SPAM***** spam_level_char * spam_level_stars 1 required_hits 3
