No.  But if they *do* force you to do this, the only valid spot to do it
is during the SMTP transaction; any time after this will use incorrect
header information and mail bomb an innocent party due to forged headers.

However if you send back a 550 reply code after the SMTP DATA, this will
at least be sent back to the spammer.   They do not pay any attention
to it though. :(
