I have a Redhat 7.3 system running Postfix, Spamassassin 2.55 and Amavisd-new that filters mail and relays it on to an Exchange server. I have noticed that obvious spam is not being caught and is being relayed on. One of these emails scored 1.6 when it went through the system. I copied and pasted the message source into a text file and ran only Spamassassin on it and it scored 18. Can anyone suggest where I can look to find out why this is happening?
Absolute first step... look at which rules matched and compare the two sets and see if any were added or omitted?
Do the scores add up?
Are you SURE that there's only ONE copy of spamassassin on your system (check /usr/bin and /usr/local/bin )?
