Finally, I wanted to try user_prefs via MySQL db. I followed the README in
the sql subdir, I assured that the db/table is there and accessable by the
user, I added user_scores_dsn etc. to the local.cf, I reloaded spamd.
There's no indication that it's getting used. I reread everything,
including the Conf documentation.
When I follow the testing instructions (cat file | spamc) in the README I
do not see any mentioning of user preferences in the spamd output (neither
"retrieving from db" nor that it uses the .spamassassin dir of the user)
at all. If I run spamassassin -D (which is not noted as a test in the
README, but I can't see any mention that only spamd would use the sql db,
so this should be valid, too) I see it looking for the prefs dir but not
for the db.

*No errors whatsoever.*

The /etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf file *is* getting used, all other
options in there are taken, just not user_scores*

I'm using 2.60-cvs. I had a version of about two weeks ago and although I
couldn't believe it could be that broken (it "makes test" fine) I got a
new one from cvs minutes ago and the sql db still doesn't kick in. The
only thing I haven't tried yet is checking out if the db is nevertheless
getting used but the usage doesn't show up in the -D output. After all,
that's just what -D is for and I would also assume that if using the db
spamassassin -D shouldn't go for the .spamassassin dir as it does now?

What am I doing wrong?
