It depends on if this is a production box that you need to get online fast or if you're just testing things out. Even though RH is going to stop support on it in the near future, I would suggest RH 7.3 as a starting point if you're in a production environment. I consider it "Plain Vanillia" for RH at this point. If you have the time to test and play, go with RH9. Check the SA list for gotchas with it, mostly it has to do with the language setting. Like I said, it's on the list archives.
