>From the info. you give, you have installed SA 2.5x but are somehow running spamassassin from an earlier version - even though the config directory or files in it (/usr/share/spamassassin) doesn't exist. To test for this, do '/usr/local/spamassassin --lint'. If that works, find and delete all the spamassassin stuff in /usr/bin - then it should work without having to specify /usr/local.
