I only started using it after trying the 2 other Postfix alternatives, a simple filter an spampd. I'm a Postfix newbie, with several years of Exim experience. I started learning Postfix because people expect me to support it. My Amavis version is amavisd-new-20030314. It incorporates the SpamAssassin Perl(3) code calls and a lot of the Perl Internet service special modules directly and doesn't use spamc/spamassassin spamd as such. It makes an utter mess of what it does, IMHO (at any rate compared to SA-Exim, which uses spamc/spamd) and the code and configuration are both cluttered-up and hard to understand at first. However, the performance on high-volume sites can be expected to be higher than the filter/spampd alternatives. I need a way of putting line feeds into the spam reports, since they're awful to try and interpret as they are. > I am in the process of upgrading the Postfix, will check version of > amavis too. Did the old versions not work properly ? I've no idea. I started with Postfix 2.0.9 (updated to 2.0.10) and the above Amavis version. I've never used older versions.
