Hi Bob, Excellent info. thanks.
Got a qeustion on MIME defang. I'm thinking of installing it, along with a caching name daemon, in a month/so. But, I'm not sure how to best set things up in our configuration: Internet (ISP) ---> Firewall (Linux/sendmail *internal* relay) ----> (continued from prev. line) ----> Mail server (Linux/sendmail/IMAP) At the moment, we run SA/procmail on the mail server. But as I understand MIME defang, it works as an adjunct (a milter) to Sendmail, and MIME defang can in turn call SA, and bounce some/all alleged spam messages out of hand. Is that correct? How would users assert their own scoring and other custom filters (not that we have many user, nor that anyone besides me would bother). Would we need to go with a database driven customization facility running on the firewall server, allowing some sort of method for allowing users to tweak their settings? > -----Original Message----- > From: Bob Apthorpe > Sent: Wednesday, May 28, 2003 10:37 AM > [...] > You may want to look into running > SpamAssassin with MIMEDefang ( http://www.roaringpenguin.com/mimedefang/ ) > as a sitewide solution.
