SA is not writing directly to your mail storage.  It is handing it off
to procmail or back to your MTA for final delivery.  It is the
responsibility of your MTA to ensure that the message is stored in
the correct local format.  When SA is speaking to your MTA it is
acting as a client, and is allowed to use local line ending
conventions.
