I am concerned about this as well, so we never ever ever send spam to /dev/null. We tag it, and send it along, giving the client-side the power over what to trash and what to keep, and the proper documentation and HOW-TOs (with pictures) showing our clients how to reduce spam if they so choose. > It seems to me there is a difference between a company with say 1000 > or less users who only recieve a few 100 spam emails a day and an ISP > with 10s of thousands of users who would get 1000's of SPAM emails a > day. The numbers change, but I believe the philosophy is the same. Sending the email on may not reduce server load, but it is a more conservative approach in regards to false positives. > If my CEO were to not get an email because it was marked SPAM that > could cause trouble for me. Understood and agreed. This method of tagging, not deleting is very safe. Clients can move spam to a folder and periodically checked.
