It would be a poor move for those of us who don't have 24/7
connectivity for their mailservers.  My mail is delivered by SMTP from
my ISP over my dial-up connection, and hence my mail is delivered
between 0630-0730 and 1830-2330 (i.e. the times my system is on-line).
Naturally, this is my home PC, but I can imagine there are plenty of
such users (even though our mail volume is small).
