If you're willing to consider a Python-based solution... Mark Hammond
(author of the Python win32all extensions) recently developed some
capability to add a button to Outlook which I think can be tailored to
execute fairly arbitrary Python code when you poke the button. I believe it
was mentioned on the spambayes mailing list in the last couple days. Check
