I'm using spamd/spamc via fetchmail and procmail. When SpamAssassin flags an email as spam, is there any way for me to 'bounce' that mail back to the sender as if I never received it?
Right now I have it filter spam into a separate mailbox which I occasionally glance through and delete. But even this is a waste of time for me, since I probably only get one false positive in every ten thousand spams. I want to 'bounce' *all* spam back to the sender. If it really was a false positive and a legit message, then maybe the sender will think to send an 'are you there?' email. (whereas if I simply trashed the message, the sender would never know it arrived) Maybe bouncing spam will even convince some spammers that I don't exist, and I'll get off their lists. Reporting spam message-by-message via SpamCop is no longer effective enough to be worth the effort. I know that email can only be bounced at the server level, before the server accepts it for delivery... but I know that some email programs (like Mac OS X Mail) can 'fake' a bounce message that looks authentic. ____ |\/| Brian Kendig Set your priorities right. \ /\ / ..__. brian at enchanter net No one ever said on his \/ \__\ _/ http://www.enchanter.net/ death bed, "Gee, if I'd \__ __ \_ Be insatiably curious. only spent more time at \____\___\ Ask "why" a lot. the office." ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Two, two, TWO treats in one. http://thinkgeek.com/sf _______________________________________________ Spamassassin-talk mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/spamassassin-talk
