Howard, I am having a similar problem - my local.cf is being read, but sometimes various items in the local.cf seem to be ignored. For example, I changed my required_hits to 5.9, and that seems to be read consistently. However, I have some all_spam_to entries that get ignored "occasionally". The report will show the 5.9 as the required hits, but mentions nothing about the recipient being on the all_spam_to list, and doesn't deduct the appropriate points. On the other hand, I have some instances where spam gets through that should be flagged. It's a small percentage, but I wonder why these particular messages get "through" somehow.
Danita >>> "Howard Johnson" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 7/8/2002 10:55:21 AM >>> I am using SpamAssassin version 2.31 on my RedHat 7.2 box. I am attempting to override rule scores for our local configuration. I have tried various things without success. In my /etc/mail/spamassassin directory I have a local.cf file with my rules changes. The website says "The, configuration data in the first existing directory in: /usr/local/etc/spamassassin;/usr/pkg/etc/spamassassin;/usr/etc/spamassassin; /etc/mail/spamassassin;/etc/spamassassin are used to override any values which had already been set". I do not have a /usr/local/etc/spamassassin;/usr/pkg/etc/spamassassin;/usr/etc/spamassassin, so the local.cf file in /etc/mail/spamassassin should do the trick. But for some reason those overrides are not being seen. After editing local.cf I also did a 'service spamd restart' just to make sure. Any help would appreciated.
