I thought that too, and suggested a test for that to be added to
Postfix.  There was a long discussion about that, and basically, there
are cases where you'd trip yourself up by blocking your own hostname
in the HELO greeting.  It is easy to implement with postfix to reject
the message right at the connection level, but then you'd have to be
careful of rejecting your own mail sometimes.

Check the postfix archives for the full discussion.  It was about 2 or
3 months ago.
