It depends ... Can you define "low end server"? What CPU, how much RAM, what's the normal load on the box ...? On my P200, RH 7.2, 256MB RAM, low load, messages typically take 2-5 seconds. Can you try running the message through "spamassassin -D -P -L -t" and see what happens. That should disable all network checks (razor, DNS lookups, etc) and only do the local tests. It will also show you debugging information, so you can notice if the body tests are the ones taking the longest amount of time, etc. > 2.
