Shouldn't be much of a problem.  The database is used precisely because it's
extremely efficient to search through.  Storage use should also be fairly small
in most DB implementations.

Probably not necessary.

the "spamassassin" program has options -R and -W for modifying the contents of
the AWL, and the tools/check_whitelist script will dump the AWL contents.
