We have seen a legit email (WellsFargo) that was scored at 9.8 because of it was "ALL-HTML" and had JavaScript in it. That said, yeah, switiching to the * X-Spam-Level: ************** (14 stars) might be a better approach instead of X-Spam-Status? Thanks!
