I think the probably most effective blacklist-type use of the AWL would be in calculating zero-frequency a-priori probabilities for new recipients who were not previously in the AWL. As I mentioned before, if after say 1 month of populating the AWL through normal correspondence, a new never-before-seen recipient is encountered, I think that's probably a sign of spamminess.
