Heh. OS X is cute (heck, I bought a TiBook too,) but it has some time to go before it's really "solid". I've had numerous friends have to reinstall the OS due to crashes, or bad package installation, or installed tools (like tar, cp, etc) that work great on UFS filesystems, but suck on HFS (what's a resource fork?) not to mention the case insensitive-ness of the whole thing. A friend installed the perl libwww modules -- which installs a /usr/bin/HEAD binary. Oops! Due to HFS, /usr/bin/head was overwritten and HEAD exists in the listing as well as head. At least it wasn't anything major like a binary called "INIT" ... <G> > The 667 is worth about $1500 less than it was a week ago. > > Poor bastard. Yeah, I know exactly how that goes. I ordered a 667 in April, and it's due to ship to me next week. If I had known the new Gen3's were coming out, I would've waited and just bought one of those. I'm still very much looking forward to getting this thing finally. I just got a wireless access point in house (err, apartment) so I can do the computing thing from anywhere I feel like.
