Yup. I've rebooted the machine since then, too. I've verified that the 'allow_user_rules 1' line is in local.cf, that my custom rule is in '~/.spamassassin/user_prefs', that I'm receiving email which should trigger my custom rule but isn't, and that it *does* work if I use spamassassin instead of spamd/spamc. I'm running spamd as my own user account, not root; could that be interfering with something? '/etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf' and '~/.spamassassin/user_prefs' are both readable by my own user account. ____ |\/| Brian Kendig Set your priorities right. \ /\ / ..__. brian at enchanter net No one ever said on his \/ \__\ _/ http://www.enchanter.net/ death bed, "Gee, if I'd \__ __ \_ Be insatiably curious. only spent more time at \____\___\ Ask "why" a lot. the office." _______________________________________________ Spamassassin-talk mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/spamassassin-talk
