digest(ify) is such an unfortunate term when googling for it because of all the mailinglist stuff that is digested... "maildir summary" was a better term. I managed to find a perl script called mdfrm by Russ Allbery which will summarize qmail Maildir directories. It's very basic but it works and can be modified to out liking: http://www.eyrie.org/ftp/software/qmail/mdfrm Now, Yan, you don't appear to be working with Maildir directories so I guess you might need to modify this further but the basics are in there ;)!
