Sorry if this is an FAQ, if so, please point me to the answer. I'm having a problem with postmaster email that contains errors related to spam (and therefore the spam) getting tagged. I tried to whitelist_from it, but that doesn't seem to be working. What does whitelist_from refer to? The From: header field? The envelope sender? Could local delivery be causing a problem?
Here's an example header: Return-Path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> X-Sieve: cmu-sieve 2.0 Received: from mail.premiernet.net [205.229.224.233] by localhost with POP3 (fetchmail-5.9.0) for ken@localhost (single-drop); Tue, 02 Apr 2002 18:25:21 -0600 (CST) Received: from localhost (localhost) by mail.premiernet.net (8.12.2/8.12.2/Debian -5) id g330NUVE026589; Tue, 2 Apr 2002 18:23:30 -0600 Date: Tue, 2 Apr 2002 18:23:30 -0600 From: Mail Delivery Subsystem <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Message-Id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] MIME-Version: 1.0 Subject: *****SPAM***** Postmaster notify: see transcript for details Auto-Submitted: auto-generated (postmaster-notification) X-Spam-Status: Yes, hits=6.1 required=5.0 tests=FROM_MALFORMED,TO_MALFORMED,NORMAL_HTTP_TO_IP,FROM_AND_TO_SAME version=2.11 X-Spam-Flag: YES X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.11 (devel $Id: SpamAssassin.pm,v 1.68 2002/03/04 01:22:24 hughescr Exp $) X-Spam-Prev-Content-Type: multipart/report; report-type=delivery-status; boundary="g330NUVE026589.1017793410/mail.premiernet.net" X-UIDL: `0*!!lC?"!~`Z!!,al"! and my /etc/spamassassin/local.cf includes: whitelist_from [EMAIL PROTECTED] and yes, I restarted spamd.
