Sorry if this is an FAQ, if so, please point me to the answer.

I'm having a problem with postmaster email that contains errors related
to spam (and therefore the spam) getting tagged.  I tried to
whitelist_from it, but that doesn't seem to be working.  What does
whitelist_from refer to?  The From: header field?  The envelope sender? 
Could local delivery be causing a problem?

Here's an example header:

and yes, I restarted spamd.
