Sorry, I forgot to mention ...

When rejecting a message, it doesn't really
matter what the reply-to address is - the bounce
will go to the mail host that sent the message
which of course does exist or I wouldn't have
gotten the message in the first place.

The reply-to is in the message headers. The bounce uses
the envelope headers.
