Hi,
I'm noticing a strange problem with spamc.

I am running SA 2.01 using spamc, spamd, and spamass-milter with
sendmail 8.12.2. This is running on a FreeBSD 4.4 box.

I'm trying this out on a test server before I set it up on our main
mail servers. This setup has to be able to handle a large volume of email
though it so I thought I would benchmark the performance first to see how it
scales. The servers I'm putting it on do not have any local accounts, they
just act as SMTP gateways to our Exchange our servers. This is why I'm
trying it with milter and not just using procmail. If there is a better way
I'm open to hearing it.

This setup works fine at low volume but when I try and load it down
spamc seems to hang. I'm using a benchmarking utility called 'postal' to
test the setup. When spamc hangs I can see 3 or 4 spamc processses running
and 3 or 4 spamd processes. If I kill the one spamc process that has hung
then everything starts working again.

Any ideas on what would be causing this or where to start debugging
it? Is there a debug flag I can turn on for spamc? I looked through the
code and couldn't see anything (I'm good with perl but my C is poor)
