Postini (A commercial virus/spam filter) does this. When they determine a message to be spam, it gets trapped, and not delivered to the mailbox. You can then go in and view your "spam" messages, and either delete from there or send them through to your mailbox. As well as being able to change some spam settings. The two biggest downsides to their system is 1) You need a new username/password to access the website which contains the spam mail. For me, that would be too much of a hassle for our users to remember a new username/password (they have a hard enough time with their login name/password) and 2) you have to point your domain's MX record to one of Postini's servers, which to me is sticking one foot in the grave waiting for an e-mail problem. I can say from 1st hand experience that whenever there is a problem with the mail server, the support lines light up like the Griswald's house in Christmas Vacation. With that said, I have thought about the web server for spam messages. Basically, have procmail filter on X-Spam-Flag: YES and forward the message off to another mail server (ie [EMAIL PROTECTED]) which has a web interface to view the messages. But I opted against it mainly because I try to keep it as simple as possilbe (KISS) for our users. Just my .02 cents.
