No problem - the version did solve the .exe problem. I checked and Java doesn't seem to do a great job of registry cleaning - all of the 1.4 information was still in the registry even though I had uninstalled it.
I think the file dialog does have something to do with network shares as well. I use offline files and that may also have something to do with it. I don't see the delay in other applications, but it is a new laptop so I have only been using it for this week so far. Maybe I'll see it somewhere else later (I have seen it in the past on other machines but I can't remember what application). The tree is working for now so I can at least continue working. Thanks again for all the help and keep up the good work. -----Original Message----- From: Robert MacGrogan [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, January 12, 2005 11:02 AM To: Patrick Cross; sourcejammer-users@lists.sourceforge.net Subject: Re: [SourceJammer-users] RE: File dialog won't display Hi, Patrick. Sorry I didn't respond before. My guess is that the problems you're having with the file dialogs might relate to some kind of network issue. Is there a network drive that Windows thinks is there but that might go away sometimes? Windows can be very bad about this sort of thing. Do you ever see similar behavior when you open up the Windows Explorer? About the sourcejammer.exe file: Take a look at the sourcejammer.properties file (sort of an ini for the .exe). There is an entry that says "JRE Version=1.4". The exe is going to look for JavaHome in your Windows registry in the following location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment\1.4 If you're using a different version, change the JRE version in the file. If you continue having trouble, check your registry entry to see if JavaHome is set correctly. Thanks. --Rob --- Patrick Cross <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Ok - an update.
