Hi- I did some reading. Better to go with postgresql. Firebird not supporting anything to do with MinGW. At least cygwin still packages MinGW with postgresql although not officially supported. Lucky to have cygwin! I will use SOCI 4 with postgresql! Thnx roboloki.
