I routinely use CS as part of the liquid portion of my hand cream,
but just because I have a lot of CS around.
While the CS might help a little preventing a cream from going rancid or
molding it isn't very effective because the fats coat the silver I
guess, and immobilize it. Creams I've made with CS as the liquid have
gone moldy. Many online recipes call for GSE as a preservative.
Making creams incorporating water is iffy. If I haven't made a cream for
a while, I usually mess it up.And I can never get in as much liquid as
cream recipes call for or it separates, and curdles. It is harder than
making mayonnaise, LOL.
