I bought 10 lbs of it and was putting generous amounts on all of the hills. At first it did seem to help but then the next week they were back. As for the urine, we live in the sticks so my hubby and grandson relieve themselves quite frequently and seek an ant hill. The ants do leave but not sure if they are dead or moved locations. Edith
