The information being disseminated in wtc7.net is largely FALSE and
certainly misleading! Steel has certain structural properties and these
include a stress/strain relationship related to temperature that establishes
its working strength for design purposes. The relationship remains
relatively constant until reaching the yield point at which the strength
reduces dramatically.
Any of you who have visited a blacksmith's shop and have seen how easily
cherry red horse shoes are bent and shaped to fit ! Nowhere have I seen any
photos of massive congealed cowpies of steel 40-100 feetwide and 6-12 inches
thick! There was no MELTED steel generated at the twin towers disaster! The
initial impact probably ruptured the firewater supply and without sprinkler
protection, the steel structure was weakened and collapsed! It would take
many hundreds of thousands of dollars to model and analyse the modes of
failure of the floors below the fire! As for the failure of WTC Bldg 7, I
cannot speculate.
