  Hi Ried,

Thank you for your very nice compliment via email. I am interested
in your project, and would like to encourage you to pursue it. There
is no reason anyone should suffer if we know simple and inexpensive
  ways to prevent it.

I don't know much about water purifiers using silver. But I wonder
if you could saturate the ceramic with your cs, then heat it perhaps
red hot. This might help convert the oxides into pure silver. I
believe this is used in some purifiers and also on the Space
Shuttle. Do you happen to know how they make them?

Before, when I was using high current density, I noticed that some
of the black oxides that used to collect in the bottom of the glass
would turn into silver from the pressure of wiping the jar clean.

The silver was difficult to remove with H2O2, so I'm pretty sure it
was elemental. Perhaps this would provide better protection against
bacteria in this application, and also help bond the silver to the
  ceramic.

I should do some research before making suggestions that might turn
out to be silly, but it's 6:54 am and I still haven't gone to bed
yet. I'll try to find some time later and see what turns up.

Best Regards,

Mike Monett
