This is exactly what I suspect this is all about. Ebay has taken over Paypal, and now they want to force you to have their credit card -- which is another way of getting your bank account information. Once you apply for their credit card, you are giving them permission to access your credit rating and all your financial information. I just really resent this intrusion into my personal finances. It's arbitrary and invasive, and compounds the opportunities for identity theft. I have always been very restrictive about doing business on the internet, in order to limit the number of people/entities that have my financial information. Paypal served that purpose perfectly. Looks like that's changing.
