L-tryptophan is metobalized into melatonan. Both are excellent sleep
aids. I believe that the melatonan is faster acting, and the
L-tryptophan is longer acting. I am glad the FDA allowed the
L-tryptophan back on the market now that the allopathic sleep medicine
patent has expired and is no longer considered a threat to the profits.

Could that be it? ... had to look it up: Tryptophan
