I actually "planned" to make it for 10 years and have several prototypes
hanging around, some with electrode sockets in the bottom and with an itty
bitty cell phone vibrator motor for a stirrer made before abandoning that
whole *top down* stirring concept as problematic and long term unreliable.
Every Puppy PC board ever made has been machined to fit that box as a
secondary idea.
Sealing up the electronics [and motor] from water vapor and splashing has
always been the big problem...which remote electrodes make into a moot point.
And polarity reversal does do 'some' stirring if you get the timing right.
[That's fairly recent ]
On that note, I got to thinking that this "recession" made another timing,
right...for simplicity of manufacture, with function, to reduce selling
price at a mild appearance, convenience and capacity cost in use.
..it does the smaller batches better than bigger ones and more parts for
the user to fiddle with....and it's "black box ordinary" in appearance.
But, opens up opportunities for modifications for uses other than just
making EIS [CS] ....a user experimentation platform.
It'll do just about anything you want it to, making the "what" the biggest
problem.
Everything is adjustable over a pretty wide range, but who is going to
write and endlessly explain the "instructions encyclopedia" when there are
several ways to do just about anything ??
..not me.
A sticky wicket, that.
[I'm already 'fused and conned enough to keep me ... awack? ]
