You may also want to run Spybot in safe mode as it doesn't always work running on regular mode and doesn't always catch everything the first run through. You may have to do a few times. They are often the source of spam and pop up windows. They can even copy your keystrokes and steal passwords and other personal information. I use Spybots "Search and Destroy".
