I use Diigo.com as a web highlighter. Its purpose built, will automatically cache the page, and even has a usable mobile app for reading and highlighting. However, my day to day workflow does not involve retrieval of saved highlights, so I don't know enough on how much it helps. I type out notes when I find an interesting passage, and I've occasionally looked up past notes (going back a decade) to retrace how my thinking has evolved. Kiran >
