when i read shiv's original post i thought he was being sarcastic, and didn't really think the US measures were any good, just that they looked good to people. maybe he still is? otherwise this is classic confusion between causality and correlation. and not even good correlation, at that - after all, there weren't many terrorist acts when these measures were _not_ being taken, either. -rishab
