if i remember correctly, in the introduction to the Ethnicity and Populist Mobilization book, the author mentions that her parents (or perhaps other close members of the family) were actively involved in the dalit movement. and that in the course of his research many of the people he interviewed remembered him as the son of their comrade/fellow traveler. so his parents must have been your uncle/aunt?
Poosibly my aunt, who's been pretty active in both the Tamil literature as well as various other political activist circles. My uncle is more into teh literature aspect of things.
