Just a rif on top of the doing a startup in Aus in terms of
registration...

Since it's likely I won't be in Australia more than the length of my
457 (say 4 years), I was wondering if anyone knew of the details
around registering a company offshore and raising bank accounts and
such so that it would be legal and still be paying taxes properly and
such.

In other words, if you're an international man of mystery (seriously,
I move every 3-4 years) and wanted to have your business located
outside of any one country's jurisdiction to avoid taxes or
complications about transferring funds and such between countries,
what is the best and simplest way to set this up? So, I'd like to have
a bank account I can pull from, maintain a low tax rate (but fair one
for whatever country I happen to be in so I'm both contributing and
staying legal) and still be able to move my operations (ie. me and
associated parties) and have them work from anywhere in the world.

ie. So, for example, having a US dollar/Euro merchant account in Hong
Kong for example for taking online payments, incorporating someplace
as a business but still paying applicable taxes for staff and whatever
in whichever country I happen to be in.

Just trying to imagine the nightmare of transferring my small business
to another country if anywhere near semi-successful in a few years.

Or am I overengineering too much already?

(just had plenty of experience with how hostile banks seem to be with
me as an individual moving between countries and trying to maintain
accounts back in countries I've resided in, let alone an entire
business).

ciao !
Daryl.
PS> Just to be clear, this is more about setting things up right. I
want everything to be legal and trouble free and to pay appropriate
taxes, just need the base of the business to be internationally mobile
and internet from anywhere friendly.
