Nope, wont work.

Also, just to help clarify for people, there are 3 ATI drivers:

radeon: for all Radeon based cards
r128:   for all Rage 128 based cards
ati:    for all other ATI cards that are not one of the above

All three drivers aparently are designed so that if you specify
the wrong driver, it can detect that and override it by loading
the correct driver anyway.  So if you try say the r128 driver and
it doesn't work, trying the ati driver will just load the r128
driver anyway so you're not getting anywhere.  ;o)

Can try, but likely wont work either.  If a card is new and
unsupported in  4.x it most likely wont work in 3.3.6 either.

16bit, ie: 65536 color IIRC.
