If it helps with understanding, these are complete filesystems (like

I'm sorry if this seems horribly obvious but I often a hard time

Hello All,
I'm in the process of migrating a file server from Solaris 9, where
we're making extensive use of POSIX-ACLs, to ZFS and I have a question
that I'm hoping someone can clear up for me. I'm using ufsrestore to
restore the data to the ZFS file system so the ACLs are converted to
NFSv4 styl

It looks like this is a bigger Oracle environment than any database
environment that I've ever worked in :)
Anyway - when you create a zfs filesystem, you can do it with the '-V'
option, which makes a block device of a fixed size that's accessible
through the usual /dev device path. You can then

Yes, this happens on our customer that has a 3 node Suncluster with 150
zpools and 50 zones and 15 Oracle databases.

of a solution.
If you just need Oracle files and activity to be on something other
than ZFS, could you try creating a ZFS block device and formatting it
UFS?

Hi all,
We have a Suncluster/ZFS customer complaining about this issue.
