Those disks are 2Gb disks, so the tray will operate at 2Gb.

Hi,
Well I have a freshly built system with ZFS raidz.
Intel P4 2.4 Ghz
1GB Ram
Marvell Technology Group Ltd. MV88SX6081 8-port SATA II PCI-X Controller
(2) Intel Dual Port 1Gbit nics
I have (5) 300GB disks in a Raidz1 with Zfs.
I've created a couple of FS on this.

Seriously...it's rather sad to see serious and useful discussions derailed by
thin skins and zealotry. Bill's kind enough to share some of his real-world

Hi Folks,
I've got a 4 Tb pool on a 3511 array. The pool was created from, and
is mounted on, an old 280r. I'd like to export the pool from the 280r
and import it to a shiny new x2200.
Will this work? Will the x2200 understand the disk labels made by the
280r? Some tests we've done on a sma

Ah - no references to back up your drivel, I see.
No surprise there, of course - but thanks for playing.

The only sad part is it's clear one or two people were fooled into believe
there's any merit to your trolling.
Grow up.

Y'know, cookie, before letting the drool onto your keyboard you really ought to
learn to research it.
I said a good deal of what I've said recently well over a year ago here (and in
fact had forgotten how much detail I went into ba

This is the wrong way to approach the problem. If you have a
legitimate point, make it courteously and respond to criticism n
Which would be great if there were any merit to what he spews. It's
unfortunate if you're wasting your time reading the rants, you'd be much better
off reading the zfs manual if you need more in-depth explanation of the

You've been trolling from the get-go and continue to do so. First it's "I have
the magical fix", which wasn't a fix at all. You claim to want to better the
project, then claim you can't be bothered because you don't really care.
You rant and rave about how this is so much like wafl from a tech
until I remembered that you said that you were speaking for others as well and
decided that I'd like to speak to them too.
As I said in a different thread, I really do try to respond to people in the
manner that they deserve (and believe that in most cases here I have done so):

Hi ZFS discuss:
I'm a daily regular reader who (usually, before this) never writes

understanding of ZFS. The discussion also provides useful knowledge
for internal cases promoting the use of ZFS. Concerning:

So which is it, Rich? Do you 'know better' but lack even minimal self-control,
or do you, however dimly, recognize that there's actually a difference between
'trolling' and legitimate criticism (and are you so scared of the latter that
