No error message when I now convert the ditamap to javahelp, so you have
indeed helped and I am (of course) grateful. However: I have selected
the checkbox for "Preview result in a helper application" and no viewer
opens. That's why I tried to open the .jar with a java command.

Next problem – jh2.0 installed yesterday, java 1.7.0_25 up and running …
